New Doors

Like most of the world, in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, I watched as the flood took siege over the city of New Orleans -- taking with it lives, homes, jobs and a spiritual wellness that many have yet to recover. Back then, I felt the want, the need to do something, but my funds could only allow me to donate bottles of water to my fellow volunteers as we sifted through salvaged clothes to be shipped to the Displaced. A year later, I was honored by one of New Orleans’ Heroes to tell his story of courage, faith and humanity in the wake of this tragedy in a feature length film. Now two years later and several visits to the Crescent City, it continues to hold a dear place in my heart. While America continues to be distracted by the politics of our nation, I’ve made it my mission to inform the world through my art, not to forget New Orleans, but to REMEMBER ~ REBUILD REBIRTH…

"Hands down, the best shorts program I have ever screened at a film festival.  Each short (6 in all) were great: “Among Thieves”, “In The Morning”, “In Time”, “Oh My God”, “Spelling Bee”, and “Staring At The Sun” were all mini-masterpieces!"

MDB.com Review

"This film played at Sundance 2005 in a shorts program.  Overall, really solid.  Really good production values. Solid direction. But, without doubt, the best thing in this film, and the reason it works is because of the acting.  The performances from the lead actors/actresses were all solid and felt completely believable. Probably my biggest criticism/ problem with 'In Time' is the script/story is a little too sentimental for my taste.  Just a matter of personal taste I suppose. But, none the less, I think it works."
